This brand new production is a visual and musical feast for the senses featuring a mesmerizing blend of three internationally renowned performing troupes: world famous Russian clown theater, Liciedei, infamous US "folk-n-roll" band, Red Elvises, and Bay Area based folk-modern dance troupe, Firebird Dance Theatre. Quintessence is a modern reinvention of the rich spirit and traditions of Russian performing arts. As its theme, the show draws its inspiration from the ancient philosophy of the five elements: earth, air, fire, water, and a fifth, the force thought to be the power of life: a child. Quintessence pays homage to the beauty and power of the five elements, melding stage performance with live music and clownery.
