Huitlacoche (wēt'lä-kō'chā) n. (1) a swollen black fungus that grows on living ears of corn. Although it is a culinary delicacy in Mexico, it is considered a pest in the United States, and has been persecuted with fungicides and genetic modification to near extinction. (2) an infectious evening of multi-media performance by José Navarrete about revolutionary acts, faith & survival, our right to food & water, dangerous border crossings, and the celebration of difference.
